Tips for gray hair and winter 'fly away' hair by Debra Hanaway
 
For those of you that want to go and let that “natural” hair colour take place here are a few ways to get by.

For those of you that have no colour pigment at all, the hair is very white. There is an alternative idea for you!!
We can put lowlights in the hair to make it have some depth. My Aunt is a perfect example of this- she wanted to be a platinum blonde all her life… well, be careful what you wish for! So she has some very traumatizing things happen in her life all within a very short time period and her hair went white like overnight!! So a year later she is complaining that she feels washed out, that her skin is blending in with hair. Now platinum isn’t so wonderful for her. Vince put some foils in her hair of a darker but not dark colour to give her some depth and of course texture and now she is looking vibrant and younger than ever. She is still “platinum” but in a richer and still natural looking way.

Prevent grey hair from going yellow

We also carry shampoo and conditioner that will help to keep the hair from getting yellow which does happen from products that are not clear or white. The reason is that usually gray hair is very porous and a lot of products have colour in them and can result in staying in the hair if not properly clarified. The products are called Cool Blonde shampoo and conditioner; again this is something that you do not have to use every shampoo but once a week for sure.
Hairsprays have yellow colors in them and lets not forget that they are sticky so the pollution, smoking and environment around us will stick into the sprays. If you use a lot of hair spray you could really use the colour support products or the Sunday shampoo, as it is a clarifying product.
 

Fly away winter hair?

As the winter months come upon us and the water molecules in the air are far and few between we need to find ways to rehydrate the hair. By rehydrating the hair we are able to calm down and soften those hairs that want to fight lying down.

We carry an awesome product by Bumble & Bumble’s treatment line called hydration that works wonders for the course 'fly aways'. There are 3 steps that do not have to be used everyday but at least once a week.
Step1- Cleansing/shampooing
Step2- Conditioning
Step3- Complex leave-in. This is a must, you would apply this to your hair after towel drying is done and before you put on styling product and/or drying the hair.
Step4- Mask- It is optional and should be left on the hair for at least 15 minutes.
