Winter color
By Julia Fogerty
Now that the leaves are gone and the cold weather is here you might
be thinking of a change in your hair color.
It's always fun to do something different,
but before you make a decision to change in color talk to your colourist
to see if your hair is in the proper condition from the summer swimming
and heat.
Without the right amount of moisture in your hair your color can appear
dull and flat. Try a treatment or two from the Bumble and Bumble treatment
line to ensure your color will look its best. The Damage Therapy from
Bumble line will repair any damage especially from highlighting. This
line is different because it is going to repair the hair from the inside
out. If your hair is feeling dry from being in the sun, you will want
to try the Dehydration Therapy also by bumble and bumble treatment line.
This line is a great way to really put the moisture back in your locks.
After your hair is feeling in tip top shape it's time to make a decision
on what color is best for you. Many people think they have to go darker
in the fall and winter. The truth is if it suits your skin type and
your looking for quite a big change, go for it. If you are going
more then two shades darker make sure you get the proper shampoo and
conditioner to make sure your color doesn't fade, for example the Color
Save from Bonicure. If you are not ready for a big change there
are other options too. Adding dimension with warm caramel tones and
rich chocolate brown low lights is a great way to move into a different
colour for the winter. And if you are not ready for a change you can
just start by toning down your blonde highlights with a toner. it's
a great way to make your hair look a tiny bit different while adding
tons of shine. Another way to add color to your hair is to do hidden
highlighting. Whether you choose a funky color like hot pink or a soft
caramel it's a fun but subtle way to add more color to your hair for
the winter.
To sum things up, changing your hair color can be fun in the winter.
Just make sure you have hair in good shape first. Don't feel pressured
to go darker in the cold months, there are so many other fun ways to
change your color.
